On February 11th, the Fundação Mendes Gonçalves will host the event “Cuidar da Primeira Infância” (Caring for Early Childhood) in Golegã, a moment dedicated to sharing projects in the field of childcare and development.
In this session, open to the public, the pilot project “Cuidar em Rede” will be presented, dedicated to strengthening the supply of childminders in the municipality of Golegã and the surrounding region. During the last few months, the Childminder Training Course took place, consisting of a theoretical component and a practical internship in a daycare center. At this event, diplomas will be awarded to the trainees upon completion of the course.
The document “Ambientes que Nutrem,” (Environments that Nourish) a tool for capacity building and promoting literacy in the areas of food, will also be presented. In a round table discussion, speakers Carolina Coelho, from the University of Coimbra, and Conceição Calhau, from NOVA Medical School, will meet to reflect on the importance of nutrition and food spaces, recommending good practices that contribute to the health, well-being, equity, and autonomy of children.
